Where do you go to Sell your Car these days?

The world wide web has changed the way we do everything. The way we shop, the way we dress, the way we socialize, the way we sell, the way we buy – the way we behave.

In the old days, if we wanted to sell a car, we advertised it in The Trading Post. Does it even exist, these days? Let us check. Oh yes, it does. The trouble with the Bricks and Mortar world is this – it is largely dead.

Today, Millennials – people born after 2000, go directly online to buy or sell their items.

An inconvenient truth

Digital media has taken over the world. Today, digital media doesn’t just refer to media sites, it refers to any site – even those a company may own – that chooses to place content it may have created – online.

If you’re not familiar with the digital game- it can be a bit unsettling

You are not alone. Digital has changed all our lives in ways we could never have predicted.

To make it easier for you to understand what you need to do if you wish to sell an old, unused car that may have even been in an accident, we’ve put together a list of sites that you can visit to place an ad on.

Car sites on which you can sell your old car:

1. Carsguide.com.au Auto Classifieds – CarGuide.com.au is an Australian owned and operated online car sales website that allows a web-savvy audience to buy a car or to list a vehicle they may own (it could be a car, van, truck or ute) for sale. A genuine digital startup, what makes it different is its user experience. Friendly, approachable it is never aggressive or puts pressure on you to buy – or sell. Cars guide feature over 100,000 new and used cars all with the seller location and contact information displayed up front.

2. Carsales.com.au – Another specialist car site, what makes Carsales.com.au special is their Instant Offer feature. This is pretty cool because you can list your car on the site, and sell it fast – with payment made the next day! Do note- payment has to be via Bank Transfer or Cheque. It is no longer legal in Victoria or New South Wales to sell old cars for cash. This is legislation that went live on November 4 and applies to all car sales in Victoria and New South Wales. Perth is exempt from this rule at present.

3. Autotrader.com.au – Autotrader.com.au is a website where you can list your secondhand quality car. Do note, it makes no sense to list a car that’s ‘unroadworthy’ on these sites. You are better off selling unroadworthy cars and accident-damaged cars that insurance companies have written off as ‘scrap metal’ to ‘Cash for Car dealers’ or Car Wreckers. What makes Autotraders.com.au attractive is its badges – they highlight when a car is priced at a Value that is more than the market offers.

It’s hard to get a buyer for an old car these days

There’s a simple reason for it. There are too many old cars in the market today. Supply exceeds demand. But worse, younger people don’t want to drive their dad’s cars. They have their own identity and they want to stamp it in the circles they roam around in.

What do you do in the event that you can’t find a buyer for your old car?

You sell it to a ‘Cash for Car’ merchant. Cash for car merchants buy old, unused, unroadworthy or even cars with engine faults in them – recondition the parts and sell the metal for Scrap Car Removals Perth.

They will never pay you a huge sum for your car – but they will give you a ‘small something’ that can help you buy your friends a round of fresh organic beers at a fashionable outpost like The Griffin Bar or the Monkey bar in the city.

Finding a buyer for an old car is hard – we hope this article makes it less hard than it currently is.
